Maintenance Plans

As with anything in life, maintenance is a must to get something to last. A lighting system is no different. For every new installation, we recommend participating in our maintenance plan which includes bi-annual servicing of your entire system. What does this service include? We soak and clean all lenses, unbury covered fixtures, trim foliage around lights, re-position fixtures as needed, bury any exposed wires, check each fixture to ensure it is functioning properly, replace lamps if needed, and check timer settings.

Participating in a maintenance plan also guarantees the warranties on your fixtures. A distributor will send us a brand-new fixture for your home if there is a defect with one that we installed. However, if the fixture was never maintained, the distributors will void their warranties. The last thing we want to see is a homeowner having to replace an entire lighting system due to lack of maintenance!

120V vs 12V…What is the difference?

This question comes up often when talking to potential customers about landscape lighting and honestly, it is not a simple one-word answer. There are many factors separating 120-volt from 12-volt lighting. One of the most important differences for an installer is that you must be a licensed electrician to handle 120-volt fixtures but not 12-volt lighting.  12v LED lighting uses a transformer to step down from 120v to 12v making it much safer to handle.
